Search engine giant Yahoo has taken the small business unit off the market due to a requirement of interested buyers. Last September, Reuters make reporting that a source familiar with the matter and said that Yahoo is getting price of up to $500 million was probable elevated than the things buyers were willing to pay. Yahoo's small business unit provides a range of services, which includes domain registration, web hosting, email and other merchant services.

Reuters story mentioned that private equity rigid General Atlantic could be a possible customer because it owns Network Solutions, which offers competitive services to small businesses. The reporting cited an email statement from Brian Nelson and Yahoo's director of communications, where he said that the company was focused on competing and winning in Yahoo Small Business and is always looking at parts of the business where partnerships, divestitures or outsourcing could generate incremental value and help us improve our focus.

Meanwhile, Yahoo announced on Thursday that it would sell its job-listings site HotJobs to Monster for $225 million.
